Spread a layer of Marvin Medium onto polythene such as a carrier bag or bin liner. Make a butterfly shape from soft wire and press into the wet Marvin Medium.
Add a little more Marvin to ensure that it touches the wire and then leave to dry for at least 24 hours. The Marvin Medium will be transparent when it is dry.
Peel the butterfly off the polythene and trim any ragged edges away with scissors. The butterfly can be coloured with felt tipped pens.
The butterfly can then be attached to a long piece of wire or onto the end of a garden cane so that it stands up.
